Pursue Excellence: The Team
As an Industrial Designer, you’ll be part of our Innovation team, pushing the boundaries of aesthetics, usability, safety, and durability. Your role integrates user needs, form, and function, using creative methods to drive product development. You will collaborate across disciplines to develop outstanding designs that align with our brand vision.
This position will report to our Design Director.
Take Responsibility: The Position
We’re looking for a skilled designer with a passion for human-centered design. You’ll contribute to innovative product concepts that prioritize user experience and visual appeal. Working closely with the Design Director and cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure our products uphold Stokke’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design user-friendly, visually appealing products in line with brand and cost guidelines
- Develop and visualize concepts based on market trends, user needs, and design requirements
- Define colors, patterns, and overall aesthetics for products
- Ensure usability, ergonomics, and functionality in design
- Create prototypes and evaluate solutions through testing
- Conduct user research and market validations
- Explore new trends, materials, technologies, and sustainability practices
- Apply knowledge of child development to product innovation
- Provide insights into materials and manufacturing processes

You have an eye for detail and a deep understanding of form, function, and materials. You’re creative yet pragmatic, blending aesthetics with functionality. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to bring fresh ideas to life through innovative design. This role is to be based in our beautiful heritage hub location in Alesund, Norway.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong aesthetical styling skills, integrating form and function
- Insight into user needs, ergonomics, and experience-driven design
- Experience in industrializing products within an international environment
- Proficiency in Office, NX, Adobe Suite, and other visualization tools
- Fluent in English
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent
Experience & Skills:
- Proven track record in product design and development
- Experience working with global teams and external collaborators
- Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- Ability to translate insights into impactful design solutions
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Flexible and adaptable mindset
- International experience preferred
