Take Responsibility – The Position: HR Business Partner - USCA.

The HR Business Partner, U.S. is a hands-on specialist responsible for driving the full employee lifecycle, culture, and organizational effectiveness across our North American operations. Based in Stamford, Connecticut, this role acts as the key HR partner to our U.S. commercial and operational teams—providing strategic counsel, ensuring compliance, and fostering an engaged, high-performing workforce.

This position blends strategic HR with day-to-day operational execution, requiring strong local knowledge of U.S. labor laws, compensation practices, and employee engagement. The HR Business Partner partners closely with functional and regional leaders to translate business goals into people strategies that drive growth and sustainability.

This role reports directly to the HR Director and collaborates with global HR teams to ensure consistency and alignment with Stokke’s values and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers across the U.S. business, providing strategic guidance on organization design, workforce planning, and capability development.

  • Translate business objectives into actionable people strategies that support growth and operational excellence.

  • Champion Stokke’s values and culture across all people processes and initiatives.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Maintain accurate employee data and HR documentation, ensuring audit readiness.

  • Partner with legal and external consultants to ensure adherence to U.S. labor regulations.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Lead the execution of annual HR programs including performance reviews, talent assessments, and compensation cycles.

  • Support leadership in identifying and developing high-potential employees through targeted initiatives.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers to strengthen leadership capability and accountability.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing balanced, solutions-focused guidance.

  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives to enhance morale, retention, and productivity.

  • Conduct investigations as needed and ensure fair and consistent policy application.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support annual salary reviews, bonus programs, and job evaluations in partnership with global HR.

  • Provide local market insights to ensure competitive and equitable compensation and benefits practices.

  • Partner with external providers to review, assess, and implement benefit programs that align with company strategy.

Projects & HR Initiatives

  • Lead and execute HR projects including process improvement, HRIS optimization, and compliance updates.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on learning, development, and well-being initiatives.

  • Support change management efforts during organizational transitions or system implementations.

Better Together – The Ideal Profile

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager within the U.S. market.

  • Proven knowledge of U.S. employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.

  • Experience supporting commercial, sales, or operational functions within a consumer or retail organization.

  • Demonstrated success managing both strategic initiatives and hands-on HR operations.

  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills across all levels.

  • Experience managing performance and compensation cycles, including salary reviews and bonus planning.

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (HiBob experience a plus) and HR analytics tools.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
